Yes believe it or not hes stuck. Kids, this why you "just say no to KO's" he has 235/75R15 BFG a/ts. He got stuck one other time but i didnt get a pic of it :pow: we tried pushing it out with the cat but only crumpled his bumper (pics below). BTW it is a 94 reg cab short bed 4x2 4.3

First off, those are not BFG AT's. BFG's have solid white letters, not outlined. I cant tell exactly what it says on the sidewalls, but they aint BFG's. Second, it wouldnt matter what tires it had, of course it was gonna get stuck. Its 2wd... it could have had Boggers, it still would have been stuck.

your right :pow: a/ts were on the back my bad should mentioned that and btw he wouldnt have made it that far even with boggers. if you dont have the hp to spin boggers fast enuff to clean them, your better off with an a/t or m/t.

I'll give you a 100ft run in 4x4, and you still wont make it. That shit is deep and sticky, you have all the power in the world to make it as well as the clearance, but those STS's wont shed the mud fast enuff.

I'd put my pink slip on the line for that kind of bet. Give me 4lo and those tires would be spinning so fast even the sts's will be cleaning out

Pink slips it is then, theres a 30% for tonight, 40 for tommorow 50 for tuesday and 60% thru-out the rest of the week. This shit aint drying up any time soon. You have a week to get that dune truck down to Texas :anitoof: But in all seriousness man, this shit is very deep and very thick. It gumbs up and and dosnt let loose. Look at the tires on the Cat they just gumb up and bog down. Even with a 100ft+ running start, its so wet and slick you might be able to get actual speeds up to 15mph if youre lucky and don't bog down.

TSL's lots of clearence and a good amount of power, thats why I say I will be able to make it. Im very familure with the kind of mud, have been through tons of it and been stuck in tons of it. Second you bog down its over. Thats why you got stuck, your frame or IFS bottomed out and your tires have no where near the grip to drag a frame through the mud.

Exactly. With 4x4 you should be able to make it with just enuff resistance to put on a good show. But the STS's wont clean fast enuff to keep up the momentum needed to not bog down.

CowboyKyle

btw, the reason i doubt your 4x2 ability is with no power to the front tires, all they do is ball up and give you just that much mor resistance. Remember this shit is sticky.

That looks like some pretty serious mud and I would never try it. There is some mud down here by the river and when it rains nothing can get through. I've seen a 4x4 Back-hoe buried up to the frame. They had to leave it for a week then dig it out. Nothing gets through that crap, its that black clay junk and it has no bottom so it just slick all the way down.
But you crazy bastards would prolly be the first to try.

Your Tires spin faster in 4 lo ?

zubyc
10-03-2004, 11:59 PM
heres the equation

more power=more rpm=more tire speed

4hi might actually work better since i might actually be able to get a start without spinning all 4

ha yeah they dont sping faster, actually slower, but its easier to get fast acceleration and therefor in some cases they may spin faster.

4hi, 4lo, 2 hi, it dont matter, this shit is slick enuff that any rpm require to spin a drive shaft will break your tires loose.

But as far as 4lo goes. Not only is this shit slick its also thick and gooey in the deep spots. In the pic where my truck was being pulled out by the cat, i could have the pedal to the floor in 4hi, and the thickness of the mud refused to let my tires spin. Thats where 4lo helps out, it dosnt let your engine bog down and it keeps the rpm's up and gets the tires to turn.

4lo is all torque, it is made for climbing and pulling w/o spinning your tires.

Exactly but when the mud is thick enough to overcome the toque in 4hi, you need the extra 2.72:1 gearing to turn the tires.
