Blown 350 .. I'm hoping for the engine to look like this (just a picture I found on Holley.com)

The truck will be Pro-Street .. I have the rear wheels/tires already (Mickey Thompson 29x18.5x15s on 15x14 Weld Drag Lites

Damn nice start, long way to go though :head2: :imo
It does have a ways, but hopefully not too long ... My frame already has a Camaro clip on it, the original 1955 trucks had SFA, unlike the lifted guys I wanted to get rid of mine :D
The major bodywork is done, still alot of blocking to get it ready for paint ..t he interior shouldn't take too much since alot of the inside will be painted. The engine is at my brothers, just needs to be put in the machine shop when the tme is ready.

I have to get my frame completed before I can put it back together .. I always got joke on for not having a truck, but a bunch of boxes  ...theres many many hours in that cab though.

I can imagine. Always loved that year range of truck. Should be a nice hotrod truck when your done.
Nice to see a prostreet too. I've wanted to build a prostreet '73-'87 for years. Replace the welds with some cool billets though. :imo

When I got the wheels, the billets weren't really an option .. the welds were cheap enough and I think I will run them for a while .. maybe down the road I will find some other wheels I like better.
It should look something like this, except shaved and laying body.

Luckily the cab hangs as low if not lower than the frame on these old trucks, so no body drop needed

I cant wait to watch this thing come together. Me and my cousin have been thinking about re-doing a 56 that he found so this is going to be great to watch

Technically it's a '59 .. 55-57 looked pretty much the same only with '57 having a different grill and some rockets on the hood. The 58 and 50 had 4 headlights and totaly different front end, but the cab was identical. The GMC were totally different looking, lots of big chrome.
I had a '55 with a big backwindow, but I thought the little back window looked more hot rod'ish ..so we swapped cabs and sheet metal. Most of the '59 front sheetmetal was eat up and wasn't salvageable.
55 & 56

Nor can I  .. I've owned this truck since I was about 21 ... I bought it for $500 while in college, drove it for a few months and then tore it down to fix it up and have never gotten it back together yet :pow:
The cab is nearing done, the front sheetmetal is good, the bed need some work. The frame already has front independent suspension, disc brakes, sway bar, power steering. I've got some of the air bag components for it (4-link parts, bags), I have the transmission (Turbo 400) and the engine that needs to be rebuilt (350) .. just need to get going on it, after I get my KP in my truck :anitoof:

Just in case any of you are interested, the Chevy and GMC dashes were different back then too.

One other interesting fact, my truck is a 1955 Second Series Truck, there also was a 1955 First Series .. I guess they started making the new truck mid year.
