here is my project for the next few days

91 oshkosh R-11 refueling truck, rockwell front tanden axle rebuild

let me start with alittle info about the truck since i know no one
has a clue what im talking about, lol

the truck is a 6000 gal refueling truck, pumps jp8 and when
topped off weighs right around 68k pounds
powered with by a 8.3 cummins and a 5 speed auto allsion tranny,
tanden rockwell axles with 315/80/22.5 tires

the spool on the front tanded axle broke, about 4 weeks ago,
so i was gonna pull the axle out from another truck that had a blown
tranny, so i started to do the work and then said screw it

so i locked the rear axle in and the truck drove fine, so i changed the
90w in the front axle and let it go

i was sent a used axle that was pulled out from another truck at someother location, i have no idea

so i was gonna just swap the axles and call it good, but the replacement i was sent is leaking oil, so i have to pull it apart to repair the seals on it,
so i said screw it, i'll take the 3rd member from the other axle and put
it in the old housing thats already mounted in the truck and save me sometime

oh yeah, shipping weight for the replacment axle was 3900 pounds with the dual rims/tires
and im working on it by myself witch makes it even more fun

my plan is to have two days of hard work and it will be done
but i have tomorrow off, so the project will be done by sunday,
i hope

anyways here are some pictures from todays progress
