Here's some pics of my new tires. I think they made a pretty big difference. They are pretty smooth and they are quite a bit bigger than my 35's. Enjoy!

Do you think I could fit that set up on my 2WD with a 10" lift.

I clear my 35's by a lot... but those are 35x12.50's on 16x8 rims
I love the wide look though

Alden
10-22-2004, 09:39 PM
I dunno.. maybe

It looks like i might have to trim my front valence, but i'm not even close to rubbing the rear part of my front fender.

I don't think the height would cause rubbing, but the width would.. they are quite a bit wider.

I'll take some pics of my tires turned after i eat some dinner

Alden
10-22-2004, 09:40 PM
oh yeah.. i forgot you were 2wd.. no way on a 36x14.50... maybe on a 36x12.50

get glass flares, and you can run 37x12.50s!

I think I could run 37x12.50's on my 16x8 rims w/out glass. But I want that wide look. Can I do anything to make it wider with out having problems. I dont like glass so thats out.

Sorry to jack your thread

HAHAHA, this is the highest one of my trucks has ever been and i really like being bigger than most other trucks already...(i guess i'm compensating :anitoof: )
Total lift with keys and tires from the bottom of my mirror was like 5" and i'm terribly pumped. If i can just hold on like this for a year and a half, i get to do 10"s plus!!!!

Your truck was nice, but the tires just looked too small. Those tires mad that truck BADASS!!!

Good work, Jake

I just measured everything out.

-my tires are 35.5" tall (315's were 33" tall)
-the tread is 12.5" wide
-my fenders went from being 47" to 49".
-my truck is now about 87" tall.. it used to be 84.5" tall
-at full lock i'm 1" from the front valence and 2-3" from the rear part of the fender.

It made a pretty big difference.. it looks like I'm about 2" higher. The jump to get in definetly feels bigger. I knew they would look wider, but I didn't realize it would make my truck this much taller.

Thanks for all the good comments guys.

Those look amazing, I love those tires and they really made a huge difference on your truck. :rocking:
I wonder if I could run those size tires on my truck with the 4.10's if i got a 10" lift?

Once again Awesome. :rockit:

4.56 or 4.88 would be the best for 36's, but you can get away with 4.10's. Your gas mileage will suffer though. It'll put a tad more strain on your tranny, but not enough to be an issue :imo

dang.. the cops must hate me.

I got a fix-it for 35% tint, and 3 mud flap fix-its. I also got a warning for no front license plate once. And that was with my 35's.. my 36's are even worse :nono:

i was gonna try it on my 2002, but it would NEVER work. those 36s take alot to clear.

That's such BS to get a warning for no front plate, nobody has 'em anymore they are ugly! I have a good excuse tho - I can't have a front plate even if I wanted to!

As for the flaps, I think they (the cops) see all the space between the tops of your tires (esp. when you had 35's) and the lower body line and that sets off alarm bells becuase somehow they think your truck will huck more rocks that way or sumthin'.
Also, the cops in and around the Central Valley don't like big tires becuase the roads are dirty (mud, dried mud & stones) from all the farm equitment and that means that the latte sipper in the BMW behind you get a cracked up windshield, but I am sure you already know all this...

Here on the Central Coast there are tons of big trucks, yet I have never seen a one with flaps.

I think the cops pick on you becuase you are "young" and remember there's nothing that gives a cop a boner more then seeing other "young" kids riding in your truck becuase that might mean there are "drugs" inside and they will use that as an excuse to search your vehicle.
Also, once you are a "marked" vehicle you will only get persistently harassed. I knew a guy once who had an OBS chevy with a 7" Fagtech long travel and he got harassed so bad that he finally dismembered his suspension so it only had a 3" spindle lift in the end. But, he was always playing "taxi driver" for all the kids around here and so his truck was a marked vehicle.

Anyway, your new tires are much better I like 'em, but dump those wheels when you get the money...peace

You dont need a 10" kit, all you need is a body lift if you dont mind the look of it.

Your truck looks great with the new tires :rocking:
Mine looks alot like it...i think

fo' sho'... ours look a lot alike.

and i agree about age being a big reason why i get pulled over. I don't drink or do drugs, and i've never had anything illegal in my truck. I've never had a speeding ticket or a moving violation.. no accidents, nothing. These cops think i'm some spoiled brat and mommy and daddy bought my truck for me.. so we're going to pull him over and give him a hard time.

my mom's side of the family were all cops too.. they all worked for the fresno police.. and my mom's brother is currently a motorcycle cop in fresno.. i drop his name when i get pulled over.. and they all know him.. yet they are still asses to me, and they still give me a ticket. :nono:
