NBS Tahoe SFBD

Well I've finally taken the big step forward and going to cut the Tahoe. I've been on here for awhile gathering all the info, etc to build out my plans and plan to post pics of everything as I go along. I've already started to collect some of the parts needed, but more to come. So here's where I hope for it to end up.

NBS Silverado Front Clip to ditch the Torsion bar setup (pick up Friday)
Custom Frame from firewall back w/ 4-link
McGaughy's 17+ spindles (Still need)
ART Arms (Still need)
22" Rims (TBD)
EDC (Still need)
Slam Specialties RE-7s on all corners
1/2 Parkers to fill
3/8 Parkers to dump
2 5-gallon tanks
Shaved rear end with LED's in the lift gate or rear vents
Shaved handles, roof rack, everything else
3" Goodmark Cowl Hood
Big brake upgrade
Hydroboost
Two-tone paint job (Blue and Silver)

This isn't my first project, but definetly my biggest. I've built a bagged s-10, bagged civic, and various lowered trucks, etc. I'm a member of Relaxed Atmosphere in Florida and will have a lot of the RA guys helping out with the build.

I'll be doing most of the work out of my garage, as I also picked up a new welder (Lincoln Pro-mig 180)

i was wondering the same thing. you have to do the same work to lay them on a big wheel. i.e. raise uppers/torsion style mounts/possibly tube lowers. i have an 02 tahoe i am getting ready to bag and i cant see any advantage to swapping to a pick up clip.

I'll try and get pics of the Tahoe this weekend. I decided to go with the Silvy front clip for a few reasons. I'm still going to drive the Tahoe while I'm working on it, so I needed a front clip to start on the full frame. Once I'm done with the frame, I'll switch out the stock frame for the Silvy one. It's a lot easier to find a Silvy front end, as well as front end parts to work with the Silvy than the Tahoe (ART Arms). I also don't like the look of Torsion Setups (not trying to offend anyone...just personal preference). I know I don't have to look at it everyday.. but just a personal choice.

I decided to build it this way as I can't commit a consistent amount of time to work on it. I may get motivated and work on it for a few weeks, then be busy and can't get back to it. Therefor, I want to keep it driveable (as long as possible). A lot of the fitment issues (relocating, tubbing, etc) I will be doing when taking breaks from working on the frame.

plus the torsion bar front ends, all the control arms are actually mounted lower on the frame for a higher ride height, the 2wd coil spring clips allow you to lay lower without crazy balljoint angles, well less crazy than the torsion clips
