I've talked to some of you guys about this, but figured I'd make the formal announcement. I've officially signed on full time with Adams Polishes, left the old job behind, now I get to work car care full time.
Like the saying goes - "do something you love and you'll never work a day in your life"
Thats pretty much how I feel... I've been an official member of the Adams staff since March 1st and as I'm sure is obvious I'm nuts about car care so getting the chance to work for a company like this is a dream come true.

sweet!!! Does this mean I get products at cost +5%?
Cool that you found a good job. Seams like you've been a little removed ever sense the Stereo store debacle (imo).
And I'll take that cost + 5% discount code whenever you get around to it too

fixed to meet my new pricing structure for d-bags. :jester:

Thanks... its cool to do something I really enjoy again. I mean the job I had was great, paid well, great benefits, but the slog of the daily routine was sucking the life out of me. Now I'll be making the same or more annually and get to do something I actually care about. Plus I get to rejoin the world of the living... that 4pm to midnight schedule really starts to mess with your head after a while.
Chris.

if i order a bottle of polish, can you hit someone in the face with it in a parking lot before you ship it?
congrats dood. wish i could be so lucky. :shake:
Dylan@Adams

sure but that'll cost extra
Unless of course Jon is hanging around the parking lot... I'll hit him in the face for no additional charge. :D

Congratulations. What happened with the sheriff dept gig?
Thanks. Without rehashing too much of the story the jerk I used to call my boss blew me up, made a bunch of false statements about me in backgrounds, and the time it took to clear all that up my hiring date was long past... since then with the state of california having the budget problems it does hiring for most agencies was put on hold or dramatically scaled back... rather than sit around and wait for things to get back on track I just decided it wasn't meant to be and moved on.
My brother has lived in constant fear of losing his job as he is still low on the hiring totem pole with his agency and if/when cuts come hes on the chopping block... not a position I want to be in with my family depending on me. A friend of mine that went in with a local city department just got notice that there will be zero overtime and they're moving him to an off shift b/c hes low on the ladder... the guys below him that were doing their field training were pushed back and may not be hired now. Scary stuff for certain cities where there just isn't any money.

Well that's awfully shitty of him, but seems like you made the right decision, family comes first.
So what will your new full time gig entail, hopefully more pics of high end details?

Yea... I guess the best revenge is living well. This was the same guy who was spreading rumors about me doing jail time a few months back... guys a real class act. What goes around comes around, I'm sure he'll get his some day :pow:
New job will basically entail keeping up on the various forums we sponsor (GMFS Included) which is cool... I'd be here anyways so might as well make it part of my job :D
Product testing/development/improvement
I'll be traveling around a couple times a month to different clinics here in SoCal and parts of the western US.
A lot of different stuff... Adams is afterall a fairly small operation so those of us who work here take on a number of roles, but everyone I work with is really cool and Adam has been a friend for a long time... he finally talked me into coming onboard full time.

First of all, congratulations, I hope you like the new job, and it certainly sounds like you will and are so far. It's gotta be a great feeling to love what you do, and get paid more than your last job to boot.
Secondly, I didn't realize Adam's was that small, it could be my imagination but I'm pretty sure they sell Adam's at O'Reilly.

Nope... no retail sales, we do not want to nor do we ever intend to be another retail shelf company. Its not what we're about, its not the direction we want to go. Small, nimble and relentlessly dedicated to making sure our customers are happy.

On a side note - I don't help dodger fans
J/K - Honestly, I don't have anyone anymore. The shop I had been using closed up shop due to the crap economy. The place that did the Avy repairs after the accident is alright, but I don't think they'd be much for custom work.
Maybe hit up GOEZ?? I know they have some guys who can do really good sheet metal work, but I'm not so sure about their ability to paint.
