I'm looking to clean up my 5.3 without removing the entire thing. I want to paint some stuff and polish. What all is ok to paint and is ok to take off.

you can paint the intake cover, fluid reservoirs (coolant, brakes, etc..), caps and i think the valve colvers (outside only), fan shroud. you could also change the hose colors... all i can think of, with out looking.

make sure you powder coat the valve covers though if you do, or else they will crack from the heat from the paint.

You can use POR15 high temp paints or something similar and do the block itself if you want, anything that will heat up you can use it on instead of powdercoating.

Theres alot of different engine paints out there. The brand my dad and I are planning on using on our Healey is made by VHT, havn't tested it out yet but the can is pretty :anitoof:
