GMFS:
I am targeting this thread mainly for the younger guys. This summer I am looking for some good jobs and ways to make money. You guys running lifts, drops, tires, and wheels (the expensive stuff): How did you pay for it? I am 16 years old. I am about to add a 3" BL mainly because that is all I can afford, but in the near future I want to build the truck up more. ( Susp., tires, wheels, gears) Just looking for the stories of how you guys got way up there or bagged on 20's etc. I appreciate all your replies

I know exactally how you feel. The job I have now can barely be considered a job. It pays for the gas and thats about it...whatever is left over I have to save for repairs down the road...lol...I'd love to get a good job over the summer and make a little more cash for the truck. I need some ideas too...

Just get a job and save as much as you can. Or you can take an easy/risky way out and start sellin illegal stuff(demand never goes down). But if your like someone I know and you get caught, you're screwed.(He was able to post 1 million dollars bail and skip town)

Good idea until you get caught. It's too much of a risk.

Get a job and only eat Ramen noodles.
I swear that is how my friend saved money.
He will eat Ramen noodles and water until he saved enough for his truck.

Just buy things piece by piece, I had my rims/tires over 2 months before I lifted my truck.

i worked at a supermarket for about 2 years for summer money... worst job i've ever had. Old fat women. sigh.

Now i deliever pizzas for a living. Its a pretty chill job. All i do is drive around listening to music, take orders, and make an occasional pizza. Right now i make about 150 in tips for a weekend, and get 75 bucks in wages... not bad for only working 15 weeks :D

amen to pizza making. I work at pizza place and I get around 30 hours a week, not bad for being 16. There is a small chain of these pizza places in indiana, so its not bad. I can't deliever because you have to be 18 but my boss is pretty cool, so he lets me deliever when we are busy, other then that I stand there and make pizza's. I get like 3 dollars in tips every night because its also a sit down restuarant(sp?) inside.

When I was 14 I had 2 jobs in the summer, I worked for my parents(yes they own there own business) and then I worked at a local theme park over the weekends. Didnt make barely anything at the theme park but it was experience. Now over the summer when im not working at the pizza place, I am delievering metal/air conditioners to job sites in town.

I work in the summer, buy and sell parts, and do odd jobs for people when i have a chance. I save as much as i can and then buy what i want instead of pissing it all away on CD's or DVD's 20 dollars at a time. Thats how i got all the stuff on my truck :D

my best advice on making money is to goto college, then go on to grad school, law school, med school, or dental school(like I am) and find a profession. when i get out of dental school with a starting pay of 200grand a year at 26 i think i will be satisfied

I would be willing to get any job with that good of money making, except if I have to look in someones mouth or clean toilets or some nasty stuff like that.
Hell, I will probably take over my dads company, and keep it going

and be in debt up to your eyes:read: lol yea thats what i'm gonna be doing soon.

I know some guys that took their college tuition money and food money. All they ate was ramen noodles, and they applied for scholarships and instead of not having a bigger loan, they dumped it in to their cars. Its suprising why so many people do that... I personally think its dumb as hell. but thats just me.

All I have to say is manual labor... Make 8 or so an hour (here in tx) and work atleast 40 hours a week if not more and that will give you a good starting point in saving some $$$... And you will understand the word WORK... lol

My dad owns a flooring business, and yes its dirty, and yes its hard work but 6 figures dont lie!!!!... So for now that is what I am doing, and may end up doing it. Woking with my hands is alot better then writing fucken papers or doing paperwork or sittin inside looking at a fucken CP all day...

I got my truck senior year in highschool (very beginning) and just made my payments and saved for everything...it took me two years to do a lift, tires, rims, pretty good system, bumpers, toolbox, bedrails and other misc crap....the key is to save and be patient. The body lift will hold you over a while...but..just save all you can.

ive had alot of jobs, the best paying was refurbishing houses and renting them out. i made 15 dollars an hour working up to 70 hours a week at one point, and making a nice bonus when finnished. this was only during breaks though, when not in school. during school i have a nice steady job at a gym with great pay. if u really want to make some money, go into sales. my g/f was a promotor for a few salons, and made up to 1000 dollars a week working during prime weeks, and she only worked 3 full days a week.
