on board welder

I've been looking at the empty AC compressor bracket in my truck and i've been thinking about making a weldernator. i figure i need to find like a 110 amp alternator and bypass the regulator. from what i've seen online it doesn't look too hard. has anybody ever made one of these things?

that is sweet.....Ive always liked doin the 2 battery thing....tho I dont quite have the hang of it as I do regular wirefeed........one of these days when I got money......gonna have lotsa toys
