Mequiar's fine cut cleaner does pretty well on the windows as well as 000 steel wool. I have really hard water so I'm probably gonna try the medium cut next time. Depending on what your wheels are (i.e. polished, chrome, etc.), the steel wool might work on them as well as long as you polish them afterwards.

The best thing in the world for your glass is "Cerama-brite". It is made for cleaning Ceramic stove tops and it works wonders. You will need some Scotts no scratch scrubbing sponges. You can find this stuff at Lowes/Home Depot or likely anywhere that sells stoves. I searched for a long, long time and this is the easiest most effective spot remover for windows.

You may also consider a claybar.

I ordered some Spot-X. It's supposed to work. I'll let you know how it goes.

The Ceramic cleaner will harm your paint if you wipe it off dry. It has a mild abrasive in it that polishes glass but won't scratch it. On paint though, you need to wash it off with water and not wipe it. I've never gotten any on my paint, it is pretty easy to work with and doesn't run all over the place.

You will be amazed how the windows turn out and how little work it takes.
