I've got a 3 1.2 ton Craftsman Professional jack that has finally give up the ghost on me. The cylinder doesn't leak, there's no air in the system, and I can't imagine any seals being bad as it's only about 2-3 years old.

Anyways, It's a one pump up to the desired height, then normal lifting from the contact point on. The first sign of trouble was when it started to not want to lift any weight anymore. It would one-up to the frame just fine, but wouldn't lift anymore (like a bypass had kicked in or something). Now on Saturday I was helping a bud replace a radiator and the one pump capability stopped. It will lift just fine regular pumping, but won't lift to it's full height or sink back down to the lowest position either anymore. There's 2 screws that say "DON'T ADJUST" on the back and I'm wondering if those may need to be fiddled with. I've bled the air out of the system and it's full of oil with no leaks, so if anyone has any answers/ideas, I'd sure be obliged if you'd throw them my way.

HaHa!! Nice try dude........hand tools only for Craftsman. Power tools and the like come with limited time warranties. The jack had a 1 year on it.

I had one that pretty much did the same thing....I found an overhaul kit for it but I didn't know how to do the overhaul...I took it to a hydrolic place that just did that kind of stuff...He told me that it wasn't worth the overhaul....It would cost more to do it than a new one costs....You can buy a nice 1 1/2 ton alumnium one from Sears for about $120.00...That's what I did and I am very happy with it...That alumnium jack is bad arse....I'll give you the overhaul kit if you want it but I doubt it will work with your jack...

I've got one of the Michelin ones. It's starting to leak fluid out of where the piston comes out. I'm hoping it's not too much to fix it because I really like that jack.
