Default How to install HIDs for your NNBS silverado

I've had a lot of requests for Installation links so here it is. Step one, Go to www.spencershids.com and get the kit you need.
Should look like this inside.

Step two. Get some 3m Double sided sticky tape, as wide as possible. put it on like this

Clean where you are going to mount these really, really good. I also use a product called adhesion promoter. Its expensive from GM, but it assures a nice tight hold. I havent had any fall off yet.
Mount your ballasts. I mounted mine here between the radiator and the headlight mount.

If your going to run a relay, all mine come with a 9005 style plug, your bulb comes with the adapter for it like you see below

then connect to vehicle headlight wiring on passenger side. leave drivers empty.

Install the lamps. To get to the passenger side lamp, remove the airbox.

Remove old shitty halogen bulbs. Toss them into your glovebox if for some reason your kit quits working, your not left stranded.
Put HID bulb in socket.

You should have 2 ends like this. they plug into the ballasts. they can be plugged in backwords on some vehicles. on others you have to swap them the way you think they should go.

Then give your relay power

Then ground. Hopefully you havent put your airbox back in, because I recommend grounding to the metal the airbox sits on.

Connect the ballasts to the bulbs.

Check to make sure it all works before you go putting it back together.
Check it on a wall to be sure you are not aimed too high. Then enjoy!!!

Please tell me if i forgot anything. My kit was already installed so I may have forgotten to add something!

Awesome I bet this will help a lot of people who don't know much about them and convince them to buy a kit if they're apprehensive about the install.

They are really easy to install as long as you dont own a pre 06 dodge. they are the devil. I charge $50 to do single beam locally because the install parts are so expensive. Between the 3m trim tape, any butt connectors (heat shrink with solder in them $4/ea) and the adhesion promoter i make about $20/hr on installs

You have the GM kit, im pretty sure...which means its midly more difficult than installing hids. Of course, it would have been easier if you had run the wiring when you had the bumper off, but its still not hard. also, your wifes bulbs are on the way.

Fogs with HID's FTW. You'll be able to drive at night with just the fogs, and blind people at the same time.

You got hosed. You should be able to find the switch on ebay and, well, shit the kit is probably cheaper than the harness and switch.

edit: you could always just hook them up to a regular switch and get a relay kit from me. Then you wouldnt have to worry about a 6 hi mod, just have to remember to turn them off with the truck. OR, I thought about hooking mine directly up to my headlights. because i have a relay in one side, the other side is left empty. For a while i was just going to hook up the fogs to the lowbeams so they were always on. That would be the way I would go if i were you. easy, simple, affordable, and best of all HID kit in your fogs ftw

With a relay harness, yes. Mounting for the ballasts is a little different. I will probably do a write up for Fogs within the next week or so.

You may want to put NNBS in the tags too.

O, and good right up.
