Default Weird vibration at around 55mph

Hey guys the truck is a 1996 chevy silverado 5.7 v8 with a 4l60e, when i reverse and stop and put the truck into drive i hear aloud CLUNK from underneath the body, and when i reach about 55 it starts vibrating pretty bad. Could this be something to do with my drive shaft ?
Thanks in advance,
Tye

Could be bad u-joint, or lack of grease on the slip yoke and u-joints.

As long as it has a grease fitting.

Could be a u joint or motor mount.

Sounds like a ujoint. If it is, the joint needs to be replaced, not lubed. Any ujoint with any amount of play in it is done and needs a replacement.

Thumbs up Re: Weird vibration at around 55mph

I am going with Ujoint. Had a few vehicles that would vibrate with speed.

Of course inspect the balance of the tyres as well as the tyres themselves for tread issues.

ever seen what happens if you don't fix it.. a goof i knew with an old bronco, mid 80's unit, drive shaft came up through the rear floor panels.. hit the ground and shot up with enough force to split the floor and stay there..

the ujoint had broken off and dug itself a new hole into my tcase rear output shaft Yoke.

Replace asap before it breaks and ur left stranded
