Ive got two 10" rockford P3's down firing under my back seat, I wanted to change them out to something that could hit deeper bass but dont have to many options. I have .65 cuft of air space and 5.25" mounting depth. I was considering changing out to a pair of JL 10W1's but I dont know if that would sound any better than what I have now, any input on these two subs would be great.

i have a pair of jl audio 12s in my sierra. sounds really good in the car but you can barely hear it from the outside. these subs just dont have enough power or room for the bass to travel. even with the jl w1s i had to shave the inside of my box about a quarter inch for them to fit. i have the same amount of room you have.

I would say the same thing as above, it hits good in the truck(i have 2 JL w0's) but from the outside you cant hardly hear/feel it at all. Im thinking of upgrading my subs but theres just not that much room back there so idk if it would help.

thats exactly what i meant. i like my subs to be heard even from outside. im used to having major beats in all my vehicles. this is my first truck, cant do much with that amount of space.
If you want to be heard from 6 blocks away then you might as well work on raising your back seat at least 4 inches, or just remove it all together to get that kind of sound out of a NNBS Ext. Cab truck.
if your using the "500 watt fosgate amp" listed in your sig, Id rather see you go with the W3s for that wattage
These trucks arent setup for long distance sounds, if you want that, get a hatchback!
I got 2 P2 10s and a 1000.1BD and it cant barely be heard outside as well, get over it

Two P2 12"s in my Yukon with the T500.1BD. 792W RMS and you can't really hear it outside of the car. By the time I turn it up enough to be heard, its too loud for my tastes. And JL is overpriced imo.
I have the same set up as you, the RF P3 Slims and the 500.2 RF amp and it's plenty enough sound for me. Components need to be cleaned up a little but that's to be expected with stock speakers powered off the head unit.
Thanks for the imput... Im not to concerned about being heard coming down the street. I just want more bass in the truck at higher volumes, its ok now but im used to having deeper louder bass that what I have. I cant fit a w6 in my box, not enough air space or mounting depth but I was thinking about switching out my P3 10's to P3 12's. But then im at the very minimum for air space requiremints for the 12's and I dont know if it will sound any better to be worth buying another set of subs. Anyone have any ideas on making it hit deeper bass? I know box size matters but im limited on space under my back seat ive got plenty of power going to the subs but if it could atleast hit a deeper range of sound id be happy with that. Would switching to a pair of 12's improve the deep bass even if the air space remains the same??

i have a nbs cc with a dual 10 box bts.
has a pair of JL 10W1s on a kenwood 800rms,1800max.
sounds incredibly good inside, but with doors closed at windows up, cant be heard outside.
but i just pulled them out and about to put a triple 12 box in it. just havent decided on the subs yet.
if youre going for pure spl, either build a box in the bed and do a blow-through, or lift/or remove back seat and throw in a pair of jl 12/13w6/w7s.
but thats a bit of money and fab work work imo.
i agree! i just found out about these not too long ago. i didnt even know jl had slim subs. the only problem is, they are like $500 a piece.
im all about sound quality and clarity but i do like to pound sometimes when im kickin it. personally i want my bass to match my truck. meaning if its a big ass truck, that shit better have that bass to match.
alter ego trip-lets be real, we modify our cars/trucks for ourselves but we all kno we like that attention or recognition. i aint a hater, i always give people props on there cars if it deserves it. i cant stand them people that give them salty looks when you roll up. especially when they have the same car as you but you shit is way better.
