anyone confirm what diameter spring/ball we should be using? are you guys greasing up the yoke when throwing the ball in there as well?

well i dont have a damn clue how you guys fit a full racquetball inside that yoke, i cut it in half and kinda folded it over and we'll see how it does havent driven yet. I need to buy a new set of calipers and then I'm going to measure the ID and the extended/collapsed lengths and get a spring to fit it and machine some little rubber end plugs for it i think....IF it actually solves the issue.
the biggest clunk i notice is when shifting between forward gears and reverse, so far it seems to have muffled it but it still is there a bit. I didnt have anything but regular high temp grease in the garage so I did not grease the splines, next time though.

They have been using this slip yoke into the trans setup forever. Why do these clunk? Do you think the rear springs are too soft and causing more movement?
you would know it if you had it, I'm pretty certain. Mine was fairly bad at times. This clunk and the engine "piston-slap" ticking on cold starts were the two things I hated most about my Sierra.
But, fortunately for me the clunk went away the last time it was greased right before putting in a new BDS leaf-pack and removing my blocks and has never come back!

That is what I'm talking about. The rear springs are too soft or wrap too much. I've thought about removing the rear blocks and put a full length add a leaf to see if that helps.
