Damn, they never even offer to wash mine

LOL...Are you kidding? From what I have read on the forums you are one of the most OCD people on the planet. Your truck can be nothing but OEM, you flipped a shit when you couldn't find smoked corners anymore, and when the body shop had your shit and were using different parts or something not general approved it was the end of the world...infact didn't you WATCH them online while they repaired it? LOL.

I mean come on dude...you restored a fucking printer from the 80's and made sure it didn't have yellowed plastic.

I aint knocking you but don't come off as not being one crazy ass OCD mofo like the rest of us. We all need fuckin meds, don't pretend you are better than us. Some of us don't want swirls, some of us don't want yellowed plastic on our 25 year old printers that serve zero purpose in 2009 We are all fucking nuts

Called the fuck out!

C'mon, it's obvious that I'm only trying to justify the fact that I no longer can dedicate the time to hand wash my truck and have settled with tunnel washes.

I cry a little inside. I won't hide it any more.

That was awesome, but I feel you Matt with being at work all day, my wife at home pregnant and our 18 month old, I don't have the time to spend on detailing like I would if I was single or maybe if my kids were older. When they get a little older and want to do their own thing, I will have another truck/toy by then that I will be able to scrutinize and whine about. Until then fuck it, the paint isn't like some of the guys but it can be corrected.

I dont have time to hand wash my truck 90% of the time. I dont really give a shit what it looks like anymore. There are so many dings and dents and scratches from dumb fucks hitting my truck in parking lots that it is depressing! White truck that doesnt show swirls FTW. When I had my black truckthe paint looked good but it was a bitch to take care of.

Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

would be nice to actually own one that doesn't look better covered in mud, as it covers the rust.. only owned one that looked best clean but thats the one that got rolled, so i'm just shit outta luck where trying to look pretty is concerned.. so i just concentrate on keeping them best running old beasts in the area..
they may not be pretty beasts, but they do get attention..

Its funny b/c it doesn't even seem to matter anymore that you tell the dealership NOT to wash b/c they'll do it anyways. I've gone so far as having the service manager rubber band a note around the shifter that says "DO NOT WASH"

Came back to find the note still exactly where it was placed and the truck has been washed. I've pretty much just given up... I'm fighting a losing battle here.

Good point, I can picture the guys they have scrubbing cars in the back getting in, looking at the note all confused, shrugging, then pulling it around back for a good old swirly wash

...precisely the reason i tell the dealership "DO NOT WASH THE VEHICLE". She comes back each time just as 'dirty' as i left her and i couldn't be happier.
