3-5 degrees yes, low as possible no. You ned to plan your driveline angles out. If you are running a massive wheel and tire, then the center of your pinion yolk will be much higher, so it will very difficult to find a good working drive height. I understand what he means by leaving it low to adjust it, but if you plan everything out, adjustment will not be needed.
