Default Any tech on replacing knock sensor?

Hey guys i have searched all over but i cannot find a decent thread about replacing the knock sensor(s). Last year i ran thru a big 'lake' of water when it was rainin so bad and it kicked up the same code, but after a few days the code cleared itself....went to check it and came back with no codes showing. Well....this year i done did the same thing. Went thru a big blanket of water and sure enough a code popped up. Cleared it yesterday but it came back on again after a day. So i figured id replace it.....i've seen a thread before talking about putting some clear silicone on it when replacing to keep the water from messing with it again.....any guidance on where this thread might be or actually from what i understand the knock sensors arent hard to replace, just under a bunch of stuff i guess.....i dunno. any info on why the knock sensors do this? lol Thanks in advance.

-Ryan

They are under the intake. Pretty easy to do.

Heres when I did it. http://www.gmfullsize.com/forum/showthread.php?t=90314

That hardest part is figuring out how the injector plugs come off.

The intake gaskets are reusable. Just wipe them off so theres no dirt on them and the same with the valley arear and heads.

It took me a couple hours. Do yourself a favor and look up how the injector connectors come off. They were a PITA for me. They were nothing like the F car that I was used to. Also... do NOT overtighten the intake bolts. They are small and dont need much TQ.
