manual tranny upgrade question...
i have a 2000 4.8 5sp with a turbo, i am swapping to a bigger motor in the next few months and was wondering what upgrades other than cluth and flywheel i will have to make. the truck will be a 6-700 rwhp truck. anyone know what i should do to the tranny?

I had a stock t56 in my truck for a while. other than a steel 3-4 shift fork it lasted a while. Im a little over 700rwhp.

The NV you have isn't going to take much abuse and there's nearly no aftermarket for it. Buy T56 and get some new guts.

Yes, you can upgrade manuals if there is an aftermarket. You want to build a trans that's weaksauce to begin with large RPM drop between gears.
Just start with a T56 and go from there.

^^ word to teh hitman, T56's can be bought fairly cheap with a broken 1-2 or 2-3 synchro now and then. It's like $80 to fix a synchro on em and you can usually pick em up for cheap or so if their broke. just make sure you get one where the tailshaft has the speedo gear in it lol.
