Default 500,000 Mile free trade in???

There's a rumon I heard a while back and I've been trying to figure it out if its true or not. The rumor is that if you go over 500,000 miles, you get a trade in for a new for FREE. Now I didn't believe this the first time I heard it because it just sounded too good to be true but then I heard it another two times. I dont know if any of you'll have friends in the dealerships but If anyone can tell me the truth behind this that would be much apprecieted. the reason why I'm asking is because I'm about to click 400,000 miles on my truck.

Thanks.

Yes, dealerships are giving away trucks. This is how GM will recover, they encourage you to keep your old truck 3 times longer than you would; then after that's done, they give you a new one free.

Why would they give people the incentive to stay in their old cars longer instead of buying new ones?
