Okay friends I have a question. I just purchased a 2006 ecsb off of autotrader from Florida. My friends at work are giving me a bunch of shit about buying a truck from a coastal state saying it'll rust real fast. I seen tons of pics of this truck and didn't see any rust, but will it rust prematurely because of the area its been in? The previous owner said he took immaculate care of it and its only got 30k on the odometer, but now I'm nervous as hell about it rusting fast.

granted things by salt water rust faster, if its clean now, it wont keep getting worse, since your taking it to wherever, it will age the same as any other truck in your area.
In the Neb City area (I'm not too far from you) The truck will be fucked in a few winters anyways. If it's clean now don't worry about it, it will be 100x's better than one you find locally.
Thats the way I felt about it too. However, I try and wash my trucks several times in winter anyway (have access to a heated shop and wash bay anytime needed) so I will keep it fairly clean here in the midwest as well. Thanks for the replies.
You will get more rust on a costal city, than inland (given similar weather conditions). It pry would not be very noticable unless your truck was sitting in say Galveston for a few months at a time.
