Default push button 4x4 troubles

my 2 wheel light on the selector goes out , gets dim, the dealer said everything with the 4 wheel drive checked out. but the light on the selector keeps giving me trouble , any help

same problem here....from what ive read on this board its the switch itself....dealer ordered part and most people on this board said they had their fixed for around $70....Ive been meaning to fix mine for a long time but havnt....but I use the 4wd a lot and have no problems so Im pretty sure its just the switch.

Check out this thread, if its a 99-02 see the bottom for a part number. (always double check with vin at dealer)

pull the switch outta the dash, take the back cover off of it, and re-solder all of the broken solders on the circuit board. i had the same problem so i took it apart and soldered 13 spots on the board. it has been good for a year so far and i dont think i will have anymore trouble with it. try this first its free....
