volt gauge???

i have reclently bought a stainless steal bezel for my 04 sierra, when i installed the bezel everything was fine, i came out one morning and my volt gauge was readin sideways, the gauge still reads normal, but for the normal 14 volt were its supposed to be reading, its readin 9 volts, i shut off the truck n the gauge drops past 9volts, i was just wondering how i could get my volt gauage readin back normal???
