Do you think your company would take a job to make 2 T6061 spacers for my 78 HPD60? I think the center bore is ~130mm, but I'd need 14x1.5mm studs, with 8x6.5" pattern. I've got some H1 beadlocks, but dont want to recenter until its a dedicated trail rig.

Ok, so its still ok to reuse the factory CV if the shaft isnt long enough then, right? Just make a sleeve with all the nifty rosettes and plugs.

Sorry if I'm asking too many ?'s, but I guess the old one couldnt have been used?

Ohhhhhh, so thats a new CV with a bigger nub, then?

Dude, this pic stumps me. Did the original tube not slip over the nub on the CV or was it just pressed up against it and welded?

A propane torch probably isnt enough pre-heat to really matter is it? This whole prone to cracking thing makes me nervous. I've been contemplating using 6 bolts(2 on the ears and 4 in the middle) instead of welding. I see a good mix of opinions on this subject, and really am stumped on which way to go.

Whats a good heat and IPM setting for welding heat-treated frames? Looks like they are 3/16" thick.

Do you work for a company that makes brackets and stuff for axles or just other fabrication on the side kinda thing?

Oh, derp derp, my bad. I can now clearly see there is no pumpkin or driveshaft on drivers side. :)

Dude, do you have a better pic of your truss and c/o mount on the drivers side? What year is your axle? I'm debating a newer(meaning something other than 78/79) model.

First time I put the input drum together, I couldnt get the snap ring seated on the forward clutch because I used cotton based towels and it wouldnt let everything seat properly with a wad of cotton towel sitting at the bottom. Seals were easy for me except for that. The lo/reverse spring on the 60e loads the whole system, so of course, its the toughest/highest spring rate, and of course, they are going to put it at the bottom of the case where its most difficult to get to. At first I attempted the press with some welded flat bar to make an upside down 'u'........ that cost me $24. I saw a guy on pt.net make that type of tool to remove the spring, that worked mo betta.

      Riddle me this...
Does the 80e have a lo/rev snap ring like the 60e? Did a see a build thread for your 80e swap, or am I just imagining it? Send me link if one exists.

would u happen to have a small grocery list of necessities for that 09 6.7 cummins? all he has is an EGR delete, DPF delete with 5" straight pipe (with o2's), and h&s mini maxx 170 tune max. is a 4x4 mega cab and will soon be on 20x10s and 35's..so he needs something thatll tote 500 HP easily to give him room for when we run injectors
