got my truck back a few weeks ago after wrecking it in December. just picked up a set of OEM cladded GMC 20s. they are the less ugly ones and I kind of like how they look but I'm thinking about decladding them. I've seen many how to threads but I just wanted suggestions on the best techniques and products to use the get all the glue off and clean them up. painting them is also an option just like the polished look.
Final product. Not stoked on the look, but it will do. Upcoming window tint should help though. Also getting black locking lugs due to lack of center caps. Hope this helps some NBS guys contemplating the 5-spokes.
That's one reason I've kept mine unpainted. But, I need to find a good way to keep them shiny. I was about to use some steel wool on them, but it was hot this weekend.
Tried using easy off oven cleaner. Here are the results. It's not 100% effective but it definitely came out with a better outcome than I thought. I honestly didn't think it was gonna work at all. But it did ok. 4/10.
Yeah...time to pull out that 5 gallon bucket of elbow grease [emoji17]
I tried my best to not get some on them but I will admit a little bit did get on them but I made sure I pressure washed them thoroughly.
