Hi guys,

So I'm pretty new to this but I'm very anxious and willing to learn. I have a 2014 single cab Silverado. I am currently changing the front end and converting it to a 2016 I was going to go HD but was bummed that the only thing that changed was a scoop on the hood anyways. I saw there are post about bagging OBS and saw some pics of NNBS but nothing on a 2016. I will be going to garages soon to get quotes but I wanted to see if you guys could explain the process to me and maybe give me ideas on what's the best parts to use for a smooth ride. I want my truck to be bagged on 28s. I know kit wise Accuair is the go to for a lot of people but I've been looking at Airlift Performance their 3H system caught my attention has anyone heard good or bad on that system any pointers will help. Thanks!

Your'e welcome. I have summoned "the master" (aka Rossy B) to this thread.

Seriously though. Do yourself a huge favor and have a reputable shop build this for you.
No offense but you're asking way more questions than someone that's ready to tackle the massive undertaking you are talking about here.

If you just want to lay frame, you will save a load of money over body dropping the truck.
Another thing that will help save money are wheel sizes (like not going bigger than 24s).

For a total build including fab work, air management (there's nothing wrong with Accuair BTW), wheels, etc.
Plan on spending at least 15k. Then if you decide on less expensive cast wheels over billets, you might come out ahead on your final bill.

Just my opinion...

@Tukn4s We think you could be beneficial here.

Sounds like money is no object then.

If that's the case take the truck to Eric Saliba at Little Shop MFG.

Why are we still in here talking about this and not on the road to Tennessee yet??....

tbh OP has been much more receptive than most of the fgts that come in asking shit on this forum.

In response purely to the original post.

Bagging the 2014 is no different than any 07-13 if you aren't fabricating your own parts. The frames are almost identical.

The factory frames for these trucks are not bagged friendly. They are much taller than the GMT800 series and the bottom of the frames are not flat either.

If you plan to talk bodydrop, then complete new frame is the only way to go. There are multiple downfalls to the 07-current frame. It's precisely why I'm building my NNBS crew cab frame using a NBS clip. If they talk about building a 3/4 frame using your clip, then you should just go elsewhere. I'm not saying it can't be done and done right, I'm simply saying that the amount of work it would take invested into a full frame would be much better result.

The argument can be made for hours on what is best, 3 link or 4 link, parallel or triangulated, bag placement, what bag, air management. It doesn't really matter what any individual says, if the builder doesn't have the knowledge, it won't magically happen. You have to talk to the builder and be confident that he can give you what you want and let him do his job. You can't take info from the internet and tell him exactly what someone says is best.

To answer your question though. Accuair is nice but airlift 3h is better in my opinion. I've dealt with both and the 3H is a better system for the money all the way around. You ha e to be sure with either system that the charging system is up to par though. Low power supply will cause both systems to do screwy things.

The biggest issue is driveability vs looks.

You can easily see the difference between bagged on 26's and bagged on 28's. You have a ton of tire and undoubtedly better ride on 26's but hardly tuck anything.

Thank you for the info you gave me a lot of information more then anything I guess I just have to trust my builder so I'm going to start researching builders and meeting with them to see who I feel most comfortable with thanks for the info on airlift over accuair I really don't seem much info on that so that's appreciated. The people I know down here all run accuair and swear it's the best I think it's mostly hype so I started searching and found airlift and so far I've heard nothing but good about airlift 3h it's just not a lot of people have it yet so it's harder to get info on it again thanks hopefully I can start building soon I just need to find the right guy

Plenty of people have airlift. Most people just don't talk about airride in general and a lot of the people that do aren't part of forums. I would say on an operational level, accuair and 3h are even. The difference is in install. Airlift is easier to install and it's cheaper with more features.

I do actually I have people close to me that are into trucks and clubs and it might be ironic or weird but I rather do it on my own then ask the people I know.
That's where you're messing up. You want to learn from others mistakes so you don't make them yourself. Research.

Google everything you want to know, YouTube. Go to shows and talk to people. Staying to yourself and asking strangers is going to end in failure.
