so it’s now time to get some new tire on my daily tow rig (2002 2500 chevy 8.1 4x4) I use it for hauling landscape trailers daily so I need it to be functional but with all the options I wanna make sure I make the right choice. I’d like to do new body re-man 2500 wheels with bfg alt 35 in . I see some kits that change the upper controls and some that change the wheel hubs? Backspacing is where I lose it all and I’m now lost . Any thoughts.

Inexpensive way: Keys, shock extensions, diff. spacers.................trim for 35's.

Expensive Way: Get a reasonable Pro Comp or Rough Country kit of the 4-6" variety. Since you mentioned you tow a lot I would think you would want to keep it closer to 4" of lift versus 6". Any kit will clear 35's on an HD without issue.

3in zone lift, it’s one of the best for Chevrolet’s. It has a front diff drop which is much needed if you are going to “crank” the torsion keys. I’ve had many chevy trucks and if you want to run 35’s on your 2500 this is the way to go. Rough country is cheaper but puts too much angle on your front cv’s. I ran a rough country for 20,000 miles and replaced the entire front end. Get a kit with a diff drop it’s a must for these chevys

Don’t get it wrong I like rough country they make a decent product at a great price point. I just put 4- RC shocks on my truck and steering stabilizer this weekend and you can’t beat it for the price. Bought all my rc shocks for the price of 1 fox 2.0 When you look at other lifts you just can’t beat the price point of the RC. I just don’t like that they don’t a diff drop for these old chevys. If you are going to run bigger than 33’s buy a better lift you’ll be glad you did.

It’s a beast of a truck I just want it to look good while still being able to work hard as I drive 20-30 k a year with this truck. I also need to 4wd to work like it should . I just want to make sure I make the right choice.

With that said I’m really diggin the zone 3 inch lift . I like the fact that it changed the upper ball joint angle for the diffence in lift . Im a little nervous of the 4 inch seems like a lot more work for that 1 inch? Also Was thinkin of doing a rear spring add instead of the block.

That's a good kit and does drop the diff.

How about an add-a-leaf in lieu of a block and instead of getting replacement springs for only an inch or two? That's if someone makes one for your truck.
