Quadbeam Light Instructions 1988- present

lowred

These are 2 seperate instructions for making all 4 headlights come on when the highbeams are on. the 1999 have negative switched circuits. (not for use on WTs or OBS cheyennes)

List of things to get
1.relay- 4 prong,w/ #85, #86, #87, and # 30 posts. common relay for additional lights
2.some scotchloks, four or five
3. some wires... doesnt matter what color as long as you can tell them apart
4. some zip ties and electrical tape
5. some connectors for the relay to the wires.
6. a screw to mount the relay, and one to ground the relay
7 an inline fuse

88-98s
1. mount the relay on the inside fenderwell near battery
2. run a wire(green) from#87 to the low beam wire... you will need a test light
3. run a wire (Black) from #85 to a good ground with a self tapping screw or straight to the negative battery terminal
4 run a wire (white) from #86 to the high beam wire... test light helps.
5. last run a wire ( yellow) from#30 to the + side of the battery with an inline fuse.
6.tape up your connections and zip tie the wires... test it out first though..

99-02 instructions

pretty much the same as above, but the wires go to different locations. ive got colors to colors on this install no test light needed... i mounted the relay on the passenger side, between the headlight and the parking light, behind the grill, there is a 10mm screw.. this works pretty good
1. run#86 on the relay using a black wire to the purple highbeam wire that plugs into the headlights
2.run#87 using a green wire to the yellow lowbeam wire
3.run #85 using a white wire and a ninline fuse to the orange high beam wire
4.run #30 using a yellow wire to a good ground
5. use the tape and zipties to clean it up.

03 and up colors
the '03's use the same style of wiring as the old 88-98's where ground is always present and positive is fed to the other lead when the lights are on.

colors are as follows

Low Beam -- Yellow +
Black -

High Beam -- Green +
Black -

using a SPST relay wire it as

87 -- Low Beam - Yellow
85 -- High Beam - Green
86 -- Ground (used the black on the High Beam)
30 -- Positive Power (got it form the jumper cable box & ran it to the relay)

FYI:these wire colors are suggested in the instructions, you can use whatever, just make sure the destinations are correct. I know it may look backwards at first, but remember its a negative switched circuit on the 99+ models.
