I got a 2002 GMC yukon SLT with the auto ac, iv been dealing with the blower motor working intermittently. I noticed the plug between the resistor and blower motor was melted so i cut of an wired them together. That worked for a month or so trouble free then started acting up again, but i did notice that it only acts up when its really cold out.

I broke down an went an bought a new resistor thinking that was the problem, so i wired it up an it worked fine for a couple weeks then it slowly started doing the same thing.

Next I’m gunna buy a new blower motor amd hopefully that works??

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thanks!!

The blower motor could be on its way out and drawing too much current which would cause both your other problems, melting the wiring and causing the resistor to fail too. Let us know if replacing the motor helps. It may have burned out the new resistor again.
