Important 3rd brake light leaking?

    hey, so it has been raining for a while here, and i went to go somewhere after the rain stoped, i backed out of my driveway, and water started dripping on my arm, lo i got out an looked, and my third brake light had water in it, so what do i do? my truck is almost 4 years old, and 37xxxmiles on it.

    New gasket for it or a whole new assembly would be my guess. Those gaskets probably dry up being out in the sun all the time.

    do you know how much that will cost? or could i use silicone? im very low on funds not being able to find a job right now

    I used silicone on mine.

    I used silicone on my LED 3rd brake light, still leaked, so I stuffed a washcloth in there...not a drop since.

    Those gaskets are not that much money. Id try that first. Or you can improvise like others using silicone.

    i had this problem on my 07 classic after i installed an empire 3rd brake light cover....i just took it off and bingo bango no more leak!...btw anybody want a bowtie billet cover...cheap...

    OH BOY! Gm didn't cave with the afm complaints. I'm sure they will cave over a leaky 3rd brake light.
