My first GM since forever ago (almost 20 yrs), as I've had Dodge Rams the past decade. In my '02 CCLB Silverado, I notice when I lock (arm) the factory alarm, the dome light will come on for a second or two, then go off. Hit the LOCK button again and the horn chirps. Hit the UNLOCK, and it flashes the park lights 2x. I read somewhere that it should flash the DRLs or something like that when you LOCK it. Mine doesn't. Is this accurate? If it should flash lights or something, can anyone point me to info on diagnosing this? The DRL work, so it's not like they're bad or anything..

    Thx!

If you have a owners manual, check it as it might be the way the past owner programed the locks.

Owners manual showed nothing related, that I saw. Found this on another forum:

    PROGRAMMING THE FACTORY ALARM

    ENTERING PROGRAMMING MODE
To program features, the car must be in programming mods.

    1) Turn key to RUN position.
    2) Turn key to OFF position.
    3) Remove the RADIO fuse in the main fuse panel.
    5) Turn the key to ACC

You should hear a chime to verify that the system is in the programming mode.
1 chime means you can program Exit Lighting, Delayed Illumination, Last Door Closed Locking and Lock Out.
2 chimes and your car is equipped with Content Theft-Deterrent System means you can also program Remote Keyless Entry Verification, Arming Method, Arming Verification, Driver's Door Delay and Shock Sensor Enable....

    ____________________________________________________________

I tried this, but right off the bat, I could never get it into 'programming mode', and never heard any chiming, other than when I tried it with the door open.. then that's all I could hear. LOL

You posted a 14 paragraph tutorial and at the bottom said it didn't work. I'll never get those minutes back.

Yeah, I'm sure this '02 should be similar to yours.. But I seem to figure out how to change it to how yours functions..

You may have an issue with your BCM if you can't even get into programming mode.

    Could need a re-flash?

so for the auto-doorlock programming, it's pull the turn signal back, key OFF-RUN-OFF-RUN, release turn signal arm. then use the LOCK button to program auto locks, etc.. I found that to work for me.. Now just trying to figure out how to get into the programming for the lights on lock/unlock.. Since this worked for me, I'd assume the BCM is not an issue??
