I'll try to cover about everything electrical I can on all the GMFS trucks from 88-04 so hopefully we can sticky this and cut down on answering the same questions multiple times.

On aftermarket decks, the wiring is like this:
Yellow: constant +, some people call it battery power. This will go to Orange on all model years.
Red: ignition, this turns the deck on. If you have anything before 03 it will be a yellow or green, 03 or after, brown at the column.
Black: ground, goes to black all years
Orange or Orange/white: goes to grey up to 02, after 03 youll have to find your own
Blue: power antenna, needs to go to pink if you have a power antenna
Blue/white: goes to pink if you have an amp or to the remote in on an aftermarket amp
White: left front + Tan on all years
White/Black: Left front - Grey on all years
Grey: Right front + Lt Green, all years
Grey/Black: Right front - Dark Green all years
    Green: Left Rear + Brown......
    Green/Black: Left Rear - Yellow.......
Purple: Right Rear + Dark Blue........
Purple/Black: Right Rear - Lt Blue........
If I have to tell you where these go, I swear Ill ban you!

On all models and years, you will need a GM battery tap availile at all auto parts stores, all Walmarts, and any car stereo place. (Unless the cables have been cut and converted over somehow)

    Running a Power Wire
on all the 99+ trucks you can also poke a hole through the large grommet on the drivers side and run it there.
On all models of trucks, you can just drill a hole on the pass. side (closer to the battery on the pre 99s or next to the second battery on diesels) at the edge of the carpet below the plastic for all the ac stuff.

    88-94 trucks:
radio install parts for the trucks and later on the burbs and tahoes

    antenna adaptor: http://www.metraonline.com/product.aspx?sku=40-GM12
dash kits: for the radio hole http://www.metraonline.com/product.aspx?sku=88-00-3301
for the casette hole, but you'll need the color of your dash to match: http://www.metraonline.com/product.aspx?sku=99-3000B
    wiring harness: http://www.metraonline.com/product.aspx?sku=70-1858

the dashes of these trucks take 4x6s and the rears are either 4x6 or 4x10s. If its barely an oval, its a 4x6, if its a huge oval, its a 4x10

Radio 12v orange + radio harness
Radio Ground black - radio harness
Radio Ignition yellow + radio harness
Radio Illumination gray (dimmer) + radio harness
Factory Amp Turn-on might be orange
    Power Antenna pink +
LF Speaker +/- tan - gray +,- radio harness
RF Speaker +/- lt. green - dk. green +,- radio harness
LR Speaker +/- brown - yellow +,- radio harness
RR Speaker +/- dk. blue - lt. blue +,- radio harness

12volts red (2 of them) + ignition harness
Starter yellow or purple + ignition harness
    Ignition pink + ignition harness
    Accessory orange + ignition harness
Second Accessory brown + ignition harness (this only turns on the radio)
Power Lock lt. blue driver door harness
Power Unlock black/red or black/white driver door harness
Parking Lights+ brown + switch or fuse panel
Door Trigger white - under dash area
Tachometer purple/white ac distributor or ECM
Wait to start dk. blue + instrument cluster
Brake Wire white + at brake pedal switch
Parking Brake black at the pedal
Horn Trigger black - at column

if your doing locks and need help, heres how you do it

If you cut one and everything quits, do this:

cut the lock wire in half
the green/black goes towards the truck side of the cut
the white/black goes towards the door side of the cut
cut the unlock wire in half
    blue/black towards the truck side
    brown/black towards the door side

Purple/black and purple go to a constant +

if you pop the fuse when you go to lock/unlock, the wires are backwards. Swap the green and white and the brown and blue, as the wires actually criss cross the truck from the drivers lock to the passenger side and then out to the locks

if you cut one of the wires and only that function stops, do this:

    purple/black and purple to a constant +
    green/black to the lock wire
    white/black to the unlock wire

the 03-05 trucks and SUVs, heres where it gets a tad tricky

same 6 3/4s in the doors with tweeters, 4x6s in the rear of the trucks, 6 1/2s in the rears of CC trucks, 5 1/4 with Bose

no links on the Metra site for kits, but the part numbers are K-420 for the radio (Scosche)
    antenna adaptor: http://www.metraonline.com/product.aspx?sku=40-GM12
theres a few harnesses you can use, some let you keep the factory radio in it and use a small speaker for door chime, some eliminate it all, and yet another is an electrical part that "keeps everything happy" and lets you add a door chime later if you choose

Radio 12v orange + radio harness
Radio Ground black/white - radio harness
Radio Ignition (Class 2 Serial Data) you can run an aftermarkets wire to the 25 amp windsheild washer fuse in the drivers side fuse box, it works the same ,except the RAP feature
    Radio Illumination N/A
Factory Amp Turn-on pink + radio harness
    Power Antenna N/A
LF Speaker +/- tan - gray +,- radio harness
Notes: If equipped, the amplifier is under the center console.

So, for my 2002 Sierra, if I want to tap into a power wire, that will run off RAP, i need to get this wire:
"Radio Ignition yellow(dk green in the later modes with RAP) + radio harness"

I'm trying to get ym SKYFi2 XM radio to be hardwired, but it's been either a switched ignition circuit, or an always-on circuit so far. I want it to work with RAP.

    Any direction is appreciated.

why not just tap it off the bacl of the radio? The RAP wires right there, I think its the dk green second from the left on the top if the plugs still in the factory radio

wiring for the 07 Tahoe with Bose

I just did one today with Bose for a Parrot 3100 Bluetooth

speakers were normal old chevy colors under the huge pocket in the center console that just pops up and slides out at the front. They were the lt. blue/ dark blue, yellow/brown, tan/grey, lt green/dark green at a huge harness connector that goes towards the amp. You can also find a pink thats a 12v acc(comes on/off with the radio on/off not ignition, but its not an amp turn on), you have a black ground and 3 constants that are all red/white. Funny part was that the tweeters are also caught on the front speaker wires and arent seperate, but passsively cross overed. The stock sub(s) are on the right side in a 4 pin connector. I dont know if its 2 subs or a dual voice coil, but they are red/green and white/red / white/green. We did it right and used relays to kill the subs when the Parrot kicked in so have fun

that confused me all those speakers... for example: LF speaker tan wire, to me, it looks like youre saying its + & - with the way you have the +,- for radio harness

the Metra links no longer work.

How can we cover up the hole that the bastard radio leaves in the dashboard of a 93? is there a headunit that works with these things?

you can do a pocket for where the original "radio" went and then a kit for where the cassette player was.
