floppy shifter on 2003 avalanche

    does anyone have a part # for the spring in the column?

    You cant change just the spring, Its a "Case" that the shifter bolts to
    #26088811 with RPO code NP7
    #88965342 without RPO code NP7 (most likely this one)

    Part # 07812853 shift lever spring.
    Ordered from Gm dealer for a 99 silverado.
    You have to cut 3-4 coils off, to fit to size.
    Measure distance of lever, back to forward.
    Or, if you have both pieces, of the broken spring, measure or count the coils.
