My tahoe is in desperate need of a new paint job. With that said I cant see spending a couple thousand on a paint job for a offroad truck. The hood and roof need to be painted for sure just to keep it from rusting. How much paint do yall think I need for just the hood and roof? Shit is 100 dollors a quart:sparta:

a quart of unreduced base is more then enough to do the hood and roof with most paint systems. Once it's reduced you should have 1.5-2 quarts rts.

You add a reducing agent to the paint. Unreduced paint is too thick to be sprayed through the paint gun so it has to be thinned out.

base reduces 1:1. So if you buy 1 quart it will be 2 reduced.

1 quart would be more than enough base to do that.

every primer mixes different. some 4:1, 2:1 etc.

same thing with clear. some 2:1:1, 2:1, 4:1 etc

find your clear that you want and see how it reduces then i can tell you how much you need to buy

go to acadian paint supply in new iberia. they sell ppg and have a kit with base and clear reduces etc for a real good price. I havent personally bought any but a good friend uses them for everything he paints. if not nason like the guy said above is real good quality for the price.
