If you are just trying to make sure your new HU functions; why don't you just temp hook it up just sitting inside of the dash? You could save yourself some headaches down the road if you don't do a hack job now. Just my $.02.

My idiot ex had me take my truck to his buddy's shop. All they did was cut off the excess I guess... I had to do bondo on it to fill the gaps. As you can see its not done haha... I have been working like crazy but I hope to finish it by next week. [IMG]

Sent from the bed of my truck.

I installed a Parrot Asteroid Smart in my 02. I opted to cut the factory dash bezel to make it all work

If its like mine... Kenwood made a holder for it that came with the decks a couple years ago but you have to cut out a hole for it and then mount it to the backside of the plate works out pretty good

The usb was just a usb cable, cut a rectangle hole in the trim panel and pushed the usb through it. Used Q Bond to hold it in and fill in the gaps in the front. Little texture paint and i was done. Took less then 10 minutes.

Ok so I got my Pioneer Installed yesterday and have a couple question.

1 What did you wire the Speed sensor wire into?
2 What did you wire the reverse sensor wire into?
3 And last but Not least what did you do with the parking brake wire?

I want to be able to watch videos while moving or access all the features with out being stopped. Whats the easiest way?

I'm curious to see pics of that install. Plus, I've seen some people on YouTube say that you should try to simply ground the park brake wire. Some radios will work while in motion with just having that wire grounded.

Metra Electronics has a dash panel that doesn't require any modifications for the 1999-2002 GM to fit the double din. Comes with brackets as well. Part # DP-3002B. Normally $189 but I found it for $139 on caraudiogiants.com

I just pre-ordered it, they just released them and are not going to ship them until March. Only negative thing is they only come in a black finish.
