I figured I'd start a build thread for my truck. The truck is a 2004 Silverado 3500 crew cab dually with a LLY Duramax. I have had the truck for a few months and have done a few things to it already but i still have a bunch of plans for the truck.

This is when I picked it up

Definitely looks clean. What plans do you have for it?

Just looking at it, I'd go for nerf bar removal, level it out, 305 M/T's, Escalade/Denali door handles, colormatched bumper cap, '06 grille swap, and mud flap removal.

Thanks. Yeah the nerf bars, mud flaps, and molding need to go. I plan to paint a bunch of stuff too.

I have a ton of parts for it already. But my plans are to do a 6/8 drop, resinator delete, pcv reroute, fuel filter delete, sump the fuel tank, fass 150 lift pump, downpipe, all on headlight mod, roll pan, some audio upgrades, shave the tail gate, color match the grille/bumper/caps/mirrors and I've got some maintenance to take care of.

I got lucky a couple weeks ago and was able to pick up a 2006 hood and grille. Hopefully in the next few weeks I can get ready for some paint work.

The truck had the engine and transmission rebuilt about 30k miles before I got it and I didn't mention before that the truck did have some mods done before I got it.

    PPE Race Valve
    Ported Fuel Rail Fittings
    EFI Live
    DSP5 Switch
    Batmowheel

I do plan on doing bigger injectors, upgrading the valley turbo, adding a second turbo, and dual fueler.

Not a ton of updates but have managed to make some progress when it wasn't raining.

    Out with the old.

In with the new. I'm going to strip the frame down and give it a coat of paint before I start driving it again.

While I had the front end taken down I noticed my hydroboost lines were leaking so I picked up some braided lines from Dirty Hooker Diesel.

My hydroboost unit also had a crack in it next to the accumulator so I had to get a new (reman) hydroboost.

While I had the front end up in the air if figured I would go ahead and install my Fass fuel filter delete

I also got to install my PPE stainless downpipe.

Sorry about the picture quality. All these have been taken with my phone

I got the bed taken off. Now I can install my notch, remove the fuel tank, and install the sump. While I've got the bed off I'm going to sand and re coat the frame.

Got the front down on the ground. Going to try to get the rest done before the holiday.

Every time I see a truck getting lowered it's just more exciting than one getting lifted. But I like lifted trucks more. Something about it is just neater to watch.

I've honestly never owned anything that's been lifted. I like the looks of them though

I'm hoping so. I honestly don't know what it was off of. The junkyard said it was supposed to be a white hood but when I got there that is what they had sitting up front for me.

I did get the flip kit done Christmas eve but between being busy and it raining for days at a time I haven't got it finished up yet. While I've got it down this far I'm hitting the frame with a wire wheel. I'd like to finish the rear section of the frame and get the notch in. Still have to install the sump in the tank and put it back in. And change out the rear shocks.

    Thanks dude.

After getting the frame stripped and I got part of a day where it didn't rain and was able to hit it with 1K etching primer

Then a couple coats of semi gloss black paint.

And got the DJM notch bolted in.

Put the shocks in and sat back on the ground

I took the 4 inch exhaust off and got a magnaflow 5 inch exhaust. For anyone wondering the 5 inch magnaflow fits with no clearance issues even with the 8 inch rear drop.

It's not supposed to rain Wednesday, if it doesn't I'm going to try and get the fuel tank in and the bed back on.

Finally got the bed on and bolted down last night. Got the pit pump installed today and turned back around. Still have a few small things to do but overall I like it. Had to get out the low profile jack to get under it. Going to order wheels next week.
