    :jester: $15-25 for 6" of phone wire?

    It's just a phone cord! A normal, regular RJ11 phone plug and Y/G/R/B wires

    Red = 12V
    Green = Ground

    Wire that bitch up to your rear view mirror!

    Made my own today at work with one of the many phone cords laying around. Yay :pepper:

    It's wicked awesome, even has it's own volt meter.

    Wires for the mirror are Black (ground) and Pink (12v).

    Black is on the corner if the plug and pink is in the middle

    you can also do this with the passport radars. one wire is power, one is ground, one signals the mute function if grounded, and one is an output for a blinking led that could be put in the gauges or where have you. i'm sure thats possible with many other radars as well. been doing this since like sophomore year lol

    Hardwiring my radar detector into the wiring harness on our rear view mirror.

    My detector sits up there, instead of a stupid cord going to a cig lighter, it's tapped into the mirror harness.

    My detector is cordless, ie. runs on batteries. It sucks. They last like 1 week.

    This way, it's got power from the truck, and is incognetus.

    Its a power cord for a radar detector. Using the rearview mirror for power and hanging the detector near the mirror so there isnt much run on the cable and you can hide it easier.

    Damn you beat me to it by seconds. LOL

    I have an Escort Solo S2

    Works with these models

    Escort 9500i, 8500, X50, 7500, 6800, Solo S2

    Valentine V1

    Beltronics STi Driver, Pro RX65, Pro RX55, Vector 995, Vector 965, Vector 955,
    Vector 940 (phone style connector), and Express 795

    Basically any detector that uses the Escort/V1 Smartcord for power for above brands...

    Since Onstar in all vehicles prior to 2003 is no longer functional due to the analog to digital switch as of Jan 08, the Onstar buttons and functions have been disabled and disconnected from the mirror and the circuit designed for that now can bear the excruciating 250 milliamps this radar detector draws :crazy:
