Traded the Benz for a another truck yesterday. It's a 2004.5 with 200k. Runs and drives great. Will be searching for some NBS cosmetic parts if some of you have any laying around that you'd like to get rid of. Not looking to spend a fortune, but will doing some GMFS treatment in the near future so I'll be looking for cm handles, cm flares, cm front bumper plastic, etc. Also looking for a driver side gray cloth seat in good shape and the stock chrome SLT door molding to replace the black.

Also, this is the first diesel I have ever owned, so any tips or advice is greatly appreciated.

Do an egr delete and keep up on regular maintenance, they'll run forever.

It's got a 5" straight exhaust and sounds great, but that's it. Has no tuner yet and zero power

Kory Willis tunes are awesome, I have them in my lb7, but be warned trans safe tunes do not mean trans safe if you like the go pedal too much.

No thats exactly what they mean ^ nothing is safe on a stock trans. Check and do the Tcase pump rub kit, change all fluids check brake lines if in a salt area, which looking at the rockers I would assume yes? Also the fuel lines if in a salt area. Otherwise the head gaskets on a LLY are the problem area.

The pump rub issue has been fixed. I am likely going to focus more on the looks and condition right now and then the performance afterwards.

Going to start by giving it a full detail and checking all the regular maintenance items.
Clean underneath and paint some stuff black.
Take off wheels and polish/seal both sides. Get center caps.
    Tint windows
    Fix tear in driver's seat
    Add fogs
CM handles, front bumper plastic, flares, and mirror caps (gotta get mirrors with caps first)

That sounds fairly legitimate, be ready to drop a fair bit on HGs when it comes to that. Wheels appear to be welds? IMO colour match all the things, maybe even CM tows, and some recon cab lights.

They are Weld 18s yes. They aren't in too bad shape. Not really pitted, just tarnished. Most of it should polish out. Will probably do cab lights too

Yea plans sound good. Thankfully you get to peel most of the ugly off GMs easy enough. The velocitys would look a shit ton better with mud tires of most any sort.

No muds, but I do have a set of cooper at3's that I might throw on there. Yea, it really needs some love, but it's more or less just a work truck which is why I'm just looking to spend little money on it for now.

Also, need a driver side tail light if anyone has a spare laying around

Looks pretty clean really. Just the stuff you mentioned should help it a lot.

Can one of you NBS guys give me some clarification on mirror compatibility for this truck? I'm looking at a set from a 2003 Escalade and can't seem to find a definite answer if they are interchangeable or not. I ask because I know on the NNBS, the Escalade mirror on the trucks is not a PERFECT fit.

    Thanks

As far as fitment...?!? They should bolt right on. No issues there with door/trim shape.

As far as wiring...?!? They may not be plug n play. Your truck is lower optioned, right? It has base model mirrors now even without removeable caps. Are they power...? Or just manual..?

They are manual. I was referring to the fitment. The escalade mirrors have the cap that I want to have color matched. The mirrors that are in it are one piece (no cap). Thanks for the help
