I had McG 17+ 2" drop spindles and then cut springs and belltech camber kit made the front 6.5" and for the rear just a flip kit and shackles to make the rear 8".... ofcourse a notch but it has to be a AVS underbed step notch or cut the bed and put a big one either way. I wish my truck was still that low but it sure does ride better but only because im not hitting the pavement.

Yes, I had to clearance my cab and take a huge chuck out of the crossmember because the driveshaft would grind when i would hit bumps but my airlift bags helped keep it from doing it often but now i have a 2 piece which is what you should do from the beginning.

You just need to unbolt your driveshaft from the rearend and raise it up by hand anything it touches needs to clearanced if your going 8"... your going to want your exhaust raised and your trans crossmember and having the hitch sectioned and rewelded higher helps or order a aftermarket ome that doesnt hang so low. The trans crossmember is the biggest deal cause if your as low as mine used to be it will hang you up on railroad tracks. Also dont park in tall dry grass after long road trips with it that low the exhaust likes to burn it haha.

If I just buy a 2 piece driveshaft will it illuminate most of those issues? Other than the trans crossmember?

Yes. Just need to build a crossmember for the 2piece and can leave the other alone.

Yeah you will need to minitub for sure but fully tubbed would be better. I dont know about LCA ive only used drop spindles and coils. You will defiently want a set of belltech lowering springs for 6" front drop or better if you can find.
Sure am. Staying after those planes..
