I have a build thread over on GM-Trucks.com, but I figured I'd post one here as well.

I bought this truck on May 5th 2014 for $4800.00. It had 232,600 miles on it, and it definitely needed a lot of TLC. The good thing is that it was optioned exactly how I would have bought it brand new besides the gearing.

-2006 Silverado Z71 in Blue Granite Metallic
    -232,600 miles
    -3.42 Gearing with G80
    -L33 5.3L V8
    -Center Console with Bucket Seats

Here are the pictures of the day I brought it home:

Then there is what all was wrong with it. Luckily my Dad can do paint and body work or I wouldn't have even bought the truck.

    A/C Belt was gone:

First thing I did was replace the rear shoes and drums.

When I bought it the light sensor in the dash had fallen down in and the headlights were always on so I took the top of the dash off to fix it.

Then it was time to refinish the frame. I decided to replace the leaf springs, rear shocks, u-bolts, gas tank straps, and the hitch while I was at it.

So this is what I had when the bed came off. Found out that I might as well replace the fuel pump too.

Drained the rear diff fluid, cleaned up the cover, sealed back up and added new fluid.

I added a leveling kit. Raised the front 1 1/4". Pictures to come.

Wire brushed the frame, cleaned it off, and painted with Chassis Saver.

After that the bed went back on the truck so I was done with that part of the rebuild. Moved on to replacing some other odds and ends like the drivers side mirror and the steering wheel.

Replaced the parking light lenses, added LED DRL's, and removed the hood guard.

Then I got a set of Procomp Xtreme Alloys, and Load Range C (6 ply) Cooper A/T3's. 17x8 wheels & LT265 70 R17 tires. Mounted one up to see what it looked like when I was replacing the front shocks and inner and outer tie rods.

Then had them mounted & balanced a month or so later.

So then it was time to replace the engine. The original one still ran, but it ran rough, had no power, and real bad oil pressure. Found one a few hours away used with 75k miles on it. Replaced most of the sensors on it, and all of the accessories like the water pump etc. Even added a new Melling oil pump.

Then I decided I wanted some ceramic coated shorty headers.

Then the original motor came out. Final mileage:

New motor went in. Replaced the torque converter seal before hand.
