I have a kenwood dnx-9960, I might upgrade in a couple months, I kinda like kenwood cause CMOS-300 that I'm planning on adding probably get DNN990HD, I have all the stuff for satellite radio on my HU already id just like to keep the factory antenna as opposed to the one I have with my kenwood. I looked up that SirusXM part, and it looks like it's basically what I have, not for using the factory antenna. I'm planning on keeping the rear speakers for the blose because I only have 2x 100.4 which I'm going to wire to components in the front doors and kicks until I can pick up a 125.4 for rears and center. If it's that much of a pita to keep onstar I'll ditch it though, then all I would need is the steering wheel controls adapter? cause I'm going to ditch the rse anyway, but if keeping onstar isn't too hard it'd be nice to keep

Edit: just googled, fucking factory antenna is plug and play, so I guess the only question is how hard is it to retain onstar and chimes, I'll just say fuck the rears and not bother with blose. If onstar is pita then fuck it, just want chimes for warnings from the dic

To keep Onstar, you'll need to wire the rear speakers to the OEM wires behind the head unit. Just don't connect the powered output from the head unit to the harness.

You can retain steering wheel controls only by using the SWI-RC, but then without using the RP5, you'll lose chimes and onstar.

Not too much of a PITA, but more money going one direction.

How does the swi-rc along with the o2(not-Bose) sounds? The rp5-gm11 would be cheaper, but from what I read on the 02 it plays the sounds through the front, and since I'm deleting those off the Bose system I'd lose mi chimes and onstar. So I'm thinking swi-rc for steering wheel controls and 02 to keep chimes and onstar

Not sure how all of that would work. I've never tried to retain it all, most people never cared. Maybe someone else will chime in.

Do I need a wiring harness to retain my chimes on my 2000 Silverado. All the harness options have onstar and other things. My truck has none of that
