Not sure what this is. Truck threw a check engine light, trying to see if this is culprit. 1994 tbi 350 Silverado 1500

Another vote for connector, possibly a weathertight one...

    They’re not lying...

But look for other loose connectors or trace the wire to whatever it goes to

It's for the under hood light, which I assume you don't have.

Probably the code that corresponds to that connector that's not connected.

And yet here we are, assuming connector genders again.

At first, get the actual code from the computer... then U might B able to chase down a device to a) fix the problem, and b) stop guessing at what that connector does.

In case the error code has nothing to do with an external device around engine (like a O2 sensor, or internal engine issue), do the following if not already done:
    - check to see inside connector for any weathering, like greying of the contacts, dust, sand and grit (this tells U that nothing has been connected for a very very long time, hence, it's an accessory U likely do not need... and stop looking...)
    - the other thing U can try if determined is to follow the wire harness back to what it is plugged into or attached to; no guarantees you will find anything useful but it's an avenue worth looking at (it might just splinter off an existing bigger or similar wire harness, hence not very useful)... A garage might be able to sort out what this is supposed to connect to, like maybe it's a diagnostics connector when at the shop...

    My 2 pennies

p.s.: but FIRST and foremost, get what the code is, might just be simply U missed your oil change... if your truck is equipped with that in mind

Could quite possibly go to the modulator valve.
