When my climate controls are left on the hot side for the first half of the day but I now need the a/c for the other half of the day, so I turn the climate control all the way over to cold then I turn on the a/c but it never gets cold. It just keeps blowing hot air with the compressor on. I have to turn off the truck for 5 to 10mins start it back up, then it will start blowing cold air.

Check your condenser in front of the radiator to see if it clogged up. If not, take it to get the a/c checked. You may have a plugged restrictive fitting.

Your blend door actuator may be going. I had the opposite problem where I couldn't get it to go back to hot and that was my issue.

Mine was stuck on hot. $65 later it's fixed.

Thanks, sounds like I can fix it cheap! I will repost what the problem was.

Go to the auto parts place and get one of those DIY ac recharge kits. I did my truck and it works great.

This...almost universal with these trucks. Try a dealer...they may do it for nothin'. I've had 4 nbs and two went out. Dealer did both out of warranty for free.
