I just found a 14 bolt SF rear end out of a 454SS truck. It is complete with 4.10 gears and and eaton posi unit. I want to put this axle in place of my 10 bolt. I know a lot of OBS half ton Z-71's have this rear end, and it seems like it would swap right in buy I don't know. Does anyone know if it will bolt right in, or do I need to mod the drive shaft, and possibly the u-joint?

Thanks

OBS half tons did not have sf14 bolts in them as to my knowledge...

The axle tubes might be different diameter, so you might need different u-bolts. brake lines will work, u joint MIGHT.. i guess i dont knwo for sure.
Some of the OBS half ton Z-71's had them, as well as the ss454 trucks. I did take some measurements on a neighbors C2500 ECSB truck and the drive shaft and u-joint are the same size. Unfortunately since his truck is semi slammed I hit my head on his muffler. But I did manage to answer my own question. :rocking:

Someone had this same question on FSC and the answer I reacall was that no drivelaine modifications where needed, just new u bolts. 454SS's have a 5 lug pattern and with your 2 wheel drive it might just work.
