I am rebuilding a 14 Bolt SF axle. I ran a pattern and would like another set of eyes to take a look. It seems to me that I should add shims to the pinion due to the drive side pattern on the gear. Second questoins is how much should be added at a time 0.005"? Here are some pics of the pattern.

Opinions please.

What gear ratio is that? What shim do you have under the pinion under the pinion now? What is your backlash?

These are Yukon 4.88 on a Trutrac with a 0.030" pinion shim and backlash at 0.007"(spec is 0.005-0.008"). I got them from axisT6 last year and just now getting around to gearing.

And just to make sure the info is complete, here is his response in the gear install how to thread:
Add 0.002" to the pinion depth, double check backlash. The pattern is great, just a little high.
I'll add that and run another pattern and report back. Thanks axisT6!

Forgot to update here, gears are done. Thanks
Ended up taking it apart and crushing the other crush sleeve that comes with the install kit even though I was told it would be fine lol. Second time around the PBPL is at 20 in-lbs. Here are the final setup specs as reference in case someone else is doing the same:
14 Bolt SF, Trutrac, Yukon 4.88
Pinion shim: 0.035"
Backlash: 0.006"
