1 have a 1964 GMC pickup with the stock straight six, 260 ci and the stock one barrel carburetor. I have the motor all tuned up and the carburetor adjusted, yet when I accelerate very fast the carburetor bogs down for two or three seconds and then catches and accelerates. Is there a way to eliminate this bogging down and have a positive acceleration from this carburetor?

Try adjusting the accelerator pump, do you know what carb is on it? It may help getting some suggestions. It may also need a new accelerator pump installed if the carb has set around dry for any length of time.
