So I have a 1973 3/4 ton Chevy truck and I have been having trouble with steering. When I originally bought it it was really hard to turn, so I replaced the power steering pump after that it turned easily but had tons of movement, so I replaced the tie rod ends. That helped a little, but it still had quite a bit of play that started at 30 mph so I tightened the gearing box, this helped, but still was nothing compared to what it should be. so I began to do some research and I found that the steering gearbox is tend to be loose on these so I bought a new gearbox and now my power steering pump squeals and I have the same amount of movement, but it only squeels with fluid in it if I take the fluid out it’s quiet but I have no power steering. Please help!
