I’m disabled and my K2500 developed a problem, runs 30 seconds-then stops. I changed the oil pressure to fuel pump switch, I’m going nuts trying to figure out why it runs fine for 30 seconds. I bought a remote starter switch (because of my disability I can’t stuff myself under the hood. )Any suggestions? It’s a crate Mark V, has always run fine- 42,000 miles. I’m 90 miles from town and I live alone in the middle of 1,000 acres- Thanks for any help

No VATS on 94, but does sound like it could be electronic. When you say remote starter, are you talking about a remote start system with a key fob, or one of those bump starter switches that just connect to the starter for diagnosis?

A “Start while under the hood” unit- that way I can see if it’s fire or fuel. I’ve built many an engine but this has me stumped (I put a new ECM in also) - Any idea? Thanks in advance

Have you been able to verify if you are losing spark or fuel when it dies? The ignition control module inside the distributor were a common problem in 88-95 as well. I've changed more of those than I can count on TBI trucks over the years for rough running and dying.
