Hi everyone,

I picked up a 1997 Chevy K1500 with the 5.7 engine reg cab Z71. My plan is to go through and do all the fluids. Went to do the radiator flush today, and there is the green ethyl stuff in there. It's supposed to take the orange DexCool.

So....do I drain the green coolant out and use DexCool or go back to the store and get the green Prestone stuff? I know one is not to mix the two and to switch types you have to do a real good complete flush.

Any help would be much appreciated.

The first thing I get rid of, any time I buy a general motors product, is the Dexcool. If someone switched it to green, run the green. I would use the extended life coolant.
