I'm doing my own drop build and I'm looking purchasing a 1in drop spring but looking for the stiffest what y'all recomend it's for a 1988 c1500

Gotta be stiff in order to perform well

Compress the spring and weld the top 3 coils together. Only 3, not 4. It'll drive like a go kart and be lightly lower.

I'd rather not weld somthing like that even if it did work. I'm just looking for a good stiff name brand 1inch drop spring

That's true as the cut springs rate will increase giving you drop and stiffer ride. You don't want too stiff as it'll give you a skipping effect over bumps on turns that are not that smooth. A better call would have a nice rate matched coil with a good shock.
